What to Expect at European Microwave Week 2024
This year, EuMW will feature a wide range of conferences, forums, and exhibitions. Attendees can look forward to a week full of discussions, networking opportunities, and deep dives into the latest advancements.
Conferences
Continuing the tradition that began in 1998, EuMW will feature three main conferences:
European Microwave Conference (EuMC) | September 24 – 26 EuMC will offer a forum for discussing recent developments and innovations. Topics include RF MEMS, high-frequency microwave photonics, ultra-low-noise sources, and emerging trends like 6G and IoT. New for this year is a focus on “Sustainability and Environmental Impact,” examining how RF and microwave technologies contribute to societal sustainability and address environmental challenges.
European Microwave Integrated Circuits Conference (EuMIC) | September 23 – 24 EuMIC will cover a wide range of topics in RF, microwave, and terahertz electronics, with a focus on integrated circuits and mixed-signal systems. This year, the EuMIC conference will emphasize Si-based and wide-bandgap technologies, as well as their applications in emerging fields such as 6G, smart sensing, and satellite communications. Additionally, host discussions on device modeling, IC reliability, and advanced packaging techniques.
European Radar Conference (EuRAD) | September 25 – 27 The EuRAD conference will focus on radar research, technology, system design, and applications. It will cover topics on radar sub-systems, signal processing, and architecture, addressing subjects like antenna design, digital beamforming, and advanced radar systems for automotive, UAVs, and defense applications. The conference will also present on topics in emerging radar technologies, including multi-static and THz radar systems.
Special Forums, Technical Sessions, and Events
EuMW’s special forums and events will offer up deep dives into specific topics:
Defence, Security, and Space Forum The Defence, Security, and Space Forum will cover topics on advancements in electronic warfare, space communication, and the integration of emerging technologies like cognitive radio and software-defined networks.
Automotive Forum This year’s Automotive Forum will feature a mix of technical talks, poster presentations, and panel discussions on topics like chip design, imaging radars, radar testing, and waveguide antennas.
6G Forum Chaired by Jean-Baptiste Doré from CEA-LETI, the full-day forum will present R&D trends that are driving the transition from 5G to 6G. A “6G-corner” will be included in exhibition hall this year that will feature industrial and academic demos of 6G-systems.
Workshops and Short Courses This year, EuMW will feature 25 workshops and 4 courses focusing on emerging topics in RF and microwave circuits, antenna and transceiver systems for 5G and beyond, THz, microwave photonics, high data rate communications, and much more.
Technical Sessions EuMW Technical Program Committee members put together an impressive program of 101 technical sessions across the 3 conference tracks. These sessions will feature a total of 507 papers, featuring the latest advancements and research in RF and microwave.
Networking and Social Events EuMW will feature many networking and social events, including the Welcome Reception, EuMIC Get-Together Dinner, EuMW Delegates Lunch, Young Professionals Get-Together, and many more. The EuMW Gala, a very popular event, will take place Wednesday evening at the Bateaux-Mouches.
Exhibition | September 24 – 26
This year, EuMW is estimating there to be approximately 5,000 visitors, 2,000 conference delegates, and more than 300 international exhibitors. The venue, Paris Convention Centre, will host many different RF and microwave companies, research institutions, and startups, exhibiting their latest advancements in circuit components, antenna systems, and radar technologies. Throughout the exhibition, attendees will be able to explore the many different interactive displays, live demonstrations, and dedicated networking areas.
Exhibit Hall Hours:
Tuesday, September 24: 9:30 – 18:00
Wednesday, September 25: 9:30 – 17:30
Thursday, September 26: 9:30 – 16:30
Spotlight on Quantic Wenzel at European Microwave Week 2024
Since 1978, Quantic Wenzel has been at the forefront of frequency control and timing technologies, known for ultra-low phase noise crystal oscillators and advanced frequency sources up to 30 GHz and beyond. In RF and microwave systems, phase noise is a significant challenge, particularly in high-speed communication and timing-critical applications. Quantic Wenzel’s frequency control and timing solutions are proven to mitigate the negative effects of phase noise, ensuring accurate, frequency stability, and spectral purity, even in harsh environments. At EuMW, Quantic Wenzel’s Sales Engineer, Michael Glass, will be available at booth 205H to meet with attendees and discuss frequency control and timing solutions for nearly any RF system application.
